1. About this policy
ISU Pathfinder is a campus guide for Isabela State University, Cauayan Campus. It includes a campus map, building directory, favorites, and spoken landmark descriptions.
2. Location information
With your permission, the app accesses your device’s location to display your position on the campus map. Accuracy depends on your device, settings, and available location signals.
You may deny or revoke location permission through Android Settings. The current-position feature will then be unavailable.
The app does not create a location-history database, upload GPS coordinates to a developer-operated server, or include a background-location tracking service. Online map requests are described below.
3. Saved favorites
Favorite campus landmarks are stored on your device using local application storage. The app uses this information to display your saved places and their count.
The app does not send your favorites list to the developer or synchronize it through an app account. Favorites remain until you remove them or clear the app’s storage. Operating-system backup and restore settings may affect whether local data is backed up or restored.
4. Online maps and device services
The app uses MIT App Inventor’s Map component to load online map tiles. The map service receives your IP address and requests identifying the map area being viewed. These requests may reveal the area you are viewing. The provider may also process technical request information to deliver and protect its services.
The standard street-map component uses OpenStreetMap-based mapping. Information about OpenStreetMap Foundation services is available at OpenStreetMap Foundation’s privacy policy.
The service used by the installed runtime determines the applicable provider practices and retention periods.
The Listen feature passes landmark text to your device’s selected text-to-speech engine. Depending on your engine and settings, speech may be generated on your device or processed through the provider’s online service. The app does not record microphone audio. Your speech provider’s privacy policy governs its handling of information.
5. Accounts, advertising, and analytics
The inspected version does not require registration or sign-in. It does not include advertisements, advertising or analytics SDKs, payments, or a developer-operated user database.
The developer does not sell app-user data or use it for targeted advertising.
6. Support communications
If you contact the developer by email, your email address and information you provide will be used to respond and address your inquiry.
Support messages are processed through the email service and retained only as needed to resolve the inquiry, provide follow-up, or meet applicable obligations. You may request deletion by contacting the address below. Any necessary retention will be explained.
7. Retention, deletion, and your choices
The developer does not retain a server-side location history or favorites list.
You can remove individual favorites within the app or clear the app’s storage through Android Settings to delete locally saved preferences. Manage operating-system backups separately through your device or backup provider.
You can revoke location permission and change your text-to-speech settings through your device settings. Third-party service logs and backups follow the relevant providers’ retention and deletion policies.
8. Security
Local application data is protected by Android’s application storage controls, subject to the security of your device and backups. Map, speech, and email providers apply their own security measures. No device or online service can guarantee absolute security.
9. Children’s privacy
The app does not request children’s names, contact details, or account profiles. Location access and online map services may still involve information as described in this policy.
Parents or guardians may contact the developer with privacy concerns.
10. Policy changes
This policy will be updated when the app’s features or information-handling practices change. The revised policy will show an updated effective date.
